Yellow

by Mortal Utopia   Jul 10, 2018

I tried
to paint the sun and realised:

Perhaps I’ve lost
a colour
(from
my palette, of course).

Maybe I’ve lost
my yellow
(I barely see that colour
anymore).

So I’ve lost
my yellow paint
(that was the colour
of your smile, after all).

But really, I’ve lost
the colours of the sun
(for I don't know how
to make you smile anymore).

Mortal, this is fantastic! You've found such a unique way of expressing the feeling of someone slipping away from you. It's sad but beautifully written.
    Nominated! :-) x
