I agree with the others, that that line with the "salt" opens up a box of many thoughts. The most common one heard is; being called, "The salt of the earth". In a true poem form, you have expressed deep feelings, with a deep desire for the cleansing, preserving, attributes of salt! Nice work. Couple of hugs thrown in too!
