When love is blind

by Walter   Jul 17, 2018

Her
I see him walking down the street
I think I will stop and officially meet
I am so nervous but I will try hard
He seems to always catch me off guard

Him
Oh I can't believe how this can be
I see her walking straight towards me
She's the girl of my dreams but I'm no fool
The only chance I'll have is if I try to act cool

Her
Now he's not even looking my way
Won't even consider me his prey
Why bother trying when he won't look
There's no point tempting you with my hook

Him
She wouldn't even give me a smile
Even when I was trying my sexiest style
I knew she's completely out of bounds
I'm too embarrassed to even turn around

Her
I will stop and give you one last chance
Can't resist and turn for one more glance
But you just keep walking with your head low
This says it all to me and it's time to go

Him
I can no longer resist for you I yearn
My desire for you which makes me turn
But already you are far in my past
As I see you walking away so fast

Cupid
Why must you humans make me intervene?
You are no longer able see a love scene
As I take two arrows I hope you won't mind
I have only one place to aim when love is so blind

Excellent... This reminded me of a programme I was watching earlier about animals 'falling in love' with other animals they're not meant to one being this horned animal I hadn't heard of before and can't remember the name of now who had fallen in love with a giraffe, he always jumped the fence from his enclosure to the giraffes, I had to laugh.

Thanks Em and your comment made me laugh too. I guess we are all the same with the dating scene and it comes down to basic animal instincts lol...But that poor giraffe!

I agree with Milly - this poem is well rhymed. As for 'quirky' I like that too!

    Well done.

Insightful piece that captures the dance of misconstrued body language :) An enjoyable piece, well rhymed and quirky. Best wishes Milly x
