When I look into your eyes,

if god hadn't heard my desperate prayers
and led me right to you.
Some people spend their whole life searching
for something more than perfect,
but from the moment that I saw your face,
and I first got to stroke your soft golden fur,
I felt like I had the whole world sitting in front of me.
I knew I was more than blessed.
I knew you were more than perfect.
Rescuing you gave me a reason to be strong again,
you let the light back in my life.
Sometimes I worried that you deserved so much better
than what I had to offer,
but you seemed to know that I had the best intentions
and the desire to give you the whole world back.
Some people think you should thank me,
for the life I began to give you,
but the truth is I should be the one thanking you
for choosing to come into my life,
and rescuing the broken down me.
I am the lucky one
to have found something more than perfect.
The day you first entered my sight,
was the day you saved my life!
