When Everything Becomes Nothing

by Baby Rainbow   Jul 17, 2018

All the phone calls,
all the texts,
every single time we met.

All the cuddles,
all the love,
every single memory
covered now in mud.

We built something special
all the way from nothing,
and in time it became everything,
but then just as quickly
it vanished back into nothing -
existing never more.

My heart feels like a graveyard,
my soul feels like shattered glass.

I loved you,
I loved us,
loved everything we became,
then just like that,
late one night,
I lost my entire world!

Like a relationship this poem starts off portraying the joy and love. There's rhyme and form, I'd even say beauty, just like young love. Then, "quickly" the poem/relationship altered course. It became a tribute to what once was.

Nice to read your work again, even if it is from a couple of years ago.
