As someone who used smoking as a way to cope in the past, I felt like I had to justify to others what I was doing. For a lot of people, it's personal or becomes routine. And it most certainly can become an unshakeable addiction. But one that can be beat. Although, I know it takes a lot more than simply reminding others as most of us know the risks and still fall back on it. |

The perils of smoking Fenrir, if the government banned it we would get used to it, however the government would be poorer! shame for them :) |
Smoking kills yet people still think it wont happen to them. I wonder sometimes what the exhaled smoke does to the atmosphere certainly secondary smoking also kills but I don't think smokers think of that. A thought provoking piece. Milly x |

Agreed, as someone who has and is still growing around smokers, they really don't see what has happened. |

Well done for writing about this. I hope someone nominates this so it can be viewed by a larger audience. |

Well written! My heart goes out to all those who are so addicted. I believe with addiction, our words to them may just bounce off the wall. It's not just cigarettes, but, drugs of many kinds. They all need higher help, as the flesh indeed is weak. |

I see people say addiction is not a disease and is a choice. |
