MY STRANGE FERRY BOAT RIDE

MY STRANGE FERRY BOAT RIDE

As the Gold Star Mother Ferry struggled against the outgoing tide, the start of rumbling reversed engines, slowed her, and into the Staten Island slip we did glide. From the crowded deck, a loud deep voice was heard, the suddenly anxious passenges spread widely apart.

There stood a giant of a black man, greatly agitated, shouting at the crowd. I found myself the only one near him, he turned and stared at me, and said; you people have been hurting us, made us Slaves, putting us in early graves.

I looked him in the eyes, and said; I’m not afraid of you! To my utter surprize, he replied; you shouldn’t be. I then realized that God had put us both together, the strong man, and the weak man. I confessed to him, of my early days of sin, and hate, and my transformation through Jesus, the way, the truth and the Gate. All I felt for him was a strong love, I know this was from the Holy Spirit, sent from above.

As we departed the Ferry, I had my arm around his big neck. He was transformed, now a gentle giant, and kind words he did say, and, with a sound mind. Gone was his anger and rage, freed from Satan’s spritual cage. I often think about my new brother, and, to my shame, I can’t remember his name, but, I still love him the same.

This is a true story!

Thanks Fenrir! As you had said: We can't breed love, we were not born with it, it is a Gift from above.
