This is good. The meter flows well through most of the poem. Line 5 flow would be improved like this:
"the scank and through the fetid ground"

I agree with Mr D this is really good... Eerily good and alot of food for thought. We all are afraid of death and I think that even those of us that choose suicide are afraid at some point beforehand. I absolutely loved this.. Especially how you set it out
