Before You Became The Sun

by Mortal Utopia   Aug 5, 2018

I still remember

the day
you shed all your colours to shine as the sun,
your brilliance
so far-reaching and out-of-reach

(so beautiful
in its lonely solitude).

I still remember

seeing you
behind rainclouds, like a forgetful shadow,
your colours
tracing down my broken window

(for all the colours you've lost
were painted on the rainbow).

I'm gushing with love for this poem!

Nature metaphor at its finest, so cryptic and yet just awesome
with a visual display of WOW. Truly a delight to read.

I love this so MUCH! Wish I'd seen it first to have the chance to nominate it but...glad to see it there anyway :)

Can you just count the number of 'your's you use and maybe try to edit a few...it's still lovely if you don't BTW...
