My Soul, My Will

by Sherry Lynn   Jul 11, 2004

I open my heart,
Gave you my soul,
And in return,
I was broke.

Broken spirit,
Broken will,
Broken hearted,
To no avail.

I tried so hard,
Couldn’t you tell?
I loved you so much,
Then you put me through hell.

You won my trust,
You gained my love,
You held me tight,
Then you fled in the night.

I gave it all
Without fret,
I enjoyed those things,
That I now regret.

Now you have my heart,
You have my soul,
You have my will,
And I’m alone.

I really liked this poem, because i can very much relate to it. My bf and I just broke up and I feel like there was nothing on this earth that i would do for him or give him. But He did me wrong and all I am doing now is basically recalling to all of that i gave to him. Good Job on the poem. Your really talented, I gave you a five.
