My Place And Yours (panic room)

by CJ Maleney   Aug 6, 2018

Everyone has a place to hide
Somewhere secret somewhere safe
Tell me that you do have such a thing
I'll say you are lying to my face

It's not always so evident and transparent
Not always a place where you can walk
It's that place where you hide yourself away
Where there is no need to talk

It could be a place so desolate and bleak
Where no one hears you scream
It could be a safe room in your head
Or perhaps it's just a dream

Mine is by the ocean
Well actually it's the Irish Sea
I sat on the end of the harbour wall
Just trying to find me

The wind blowing up a gale
I could feel and hear the oceans spray
The temptation to slip off the edge
To the depths to sink away

That was over twenty years ago
And my chest is not filled with water and of salt
Sitting on the edge wish a death to pledge
That the ocean did not want.

So here I am in this frail shell
But a fraction of what I once was
I still exist through everything
Because because because.

Because it's so so easy to give up and quit
It's so easy to float away
Is that what you want to be remembered for

Or will you live another day!

Do not dismiss the oceans or rivers
For they gift our entirety of life
No one said it would be easy
And you won't always be right.

So take a walk by the ocean or river
Perhaps a a little stroll along by the shore
As the water wraps around your feet
Know you are something more.

Its like therapy..a how to deal with panic attacks when it grips
you by the throat. Each one of us has a place to hide and bury oneself
each one of us somehow struggle to find that place where we can
    calm down..you have found yours.

I like the soothing read and it felt like you were having a conversation
    with me the reader...nice...take care

      Thank you Meena.

It's kinda ran away a little towards the end. I was extremely tired but it kept coming so it was written as it came.

      Glad you liked it
