Spanish pyres

by c. a. williams   Aug 11, 2018

your black breath pours over my lips and
falls heavily into my chest

coal dust
filling my lungs with the weight of
scented skin

these Spanish pyres burning in
this vast expanse of red and brown
leaving the embers of my flesh to
blow through your hands
