Our God

by Robert Long   Aug 12, 2018

traveling down the road
that's leading from home
traveling down that road
temporarily alone

you look down at the ground
with tears in your eyes
but all the while
you have the spirit inside

a father in the heavens
that's looking at you
comfort and healing
when your hearts split in two

for he's our God of mercy
he's our God of love
he's the creator of all things
on earth and above

and no burden is too big
no request too small
so lift it all to him
during your highs and when you fall

Good work Robert! I have been in those shoes also, but, you have simply revealed the truth with rhyme. He is near to the downtrodden and broken hearted. It deserves a Nomination, but, mine are all used up at this time.
