Discrimination

by Maple Tree   Aug 14, 2018

I dont answer the phone anymore-
her medical shadow has nothing good to say,
my words are wanting to mix with metaphors.

I've opened up so much as of late
that strangers see gaps between
my soul, it's weighing me down.

This past year I have seen the twinkle
being snuffed out of her eyes, her
heart is starting to pump slower.

Chambers have doors that never open
surgery isn't granted to street girls-
she's riddled with cancer so why bother.

I'm so angry with labels upon damaged packages -

You have no idea how precious the package is
until you look past all the broken pieces.

They make me watch her being tossed away like trash upon concrete,
they have no idea how much it hurts me.

I made her
27 years ago.....

she was perfect- still is....

but she's dying and they dont care.

Discrimination still do exist and you have every right to be angry. Unfortunately these kind of people who are ignorant and don't care we need to disregard. Important is that you know best and we love you.

Those that do not care, do not matter. They do not matter. They do not matter! Andrea, they do not matter to you, to me, or anyone who loves you.
A system that will not help those who need it through addiction is broken and needs changing. ((Hugs)) xx
