Man Mountain

by CJ Maleney   Aug 14, 2018

This mountain of a man
Does not move with pace or grace
His gait is cumbersome and jerky
The pain is etched upon on his face

When younger, such a weapon
A force of nature to behold
Not so impressive anymore
As he's starting to feel old

That strength that once existed
Those strong and sturdy bones
Are crumbling beneath their own weight
And he knows the bell now tolls

That mountain men once feared
Now dismissed by simple words
Ignored and not respected
His voice no longer heard

He relied upon his strength to bully
To bring men to their knees
Memories of elephants in little men
Seek revenge that needs appeased

The fear that he wielded so freely
Has gained many enemy's it's true
What goes around comes around
And now there forms a queue
