Rhodes Part 2 (home from home)

by CJ Maleney   Aug 20, 2018

Brakes apply and slow us down,
As engines thrust into reverse.
Exhausted and exited,
About what awaits us we converse.

Another hour of traveling,
On a hot and sticky bus.
At home this would annoy the hell out of me
But no this occasion, I'm not fussed!

Too late to seek excitement,
Our thoughts turn to food and sleep.
We find a tiny eatery that's open,
With the most succulent of meats.

Thirst and hunger sated.
It's time to hit the sack,
Body's need to rest now,
Or energy we'll lack.

Siting on the balcony with a beer and cigarette.
A gentle wind kisses my white skin.
I feel that I am home from home,
The adventure now begins!
