An irresistible sin

by Ya----Na   Aug 27, 2018

Once
I had a sky full of stars under the bonfire
in the realm of your arms
and
I had seen the beauty of life
even in the empty spaces of
those three words
you used to whisper into my ears.

Love is an irresistible sin;
it makes you immortal
(you neither live nor die.)
You daydream about yesterday
in the presence of tomorrow.

First love;
They told me it wouldn't last forever.
And truth wasn't discovered
until my soul drowned in the wondrous depths
of your lies.
Now,
I see my dreams floating away
with your good-byes.

Still
whenever the clouds of your thoughts
burst upon my heart,
my pillow talks to me about the promises...
you didn't keep.

    An Irresistible Sin (by Ya--Na) 4 points.

    This is a poem that speaks to me of the truth in love.

    We have no control over who we love or wo love us. It's an undeniable thing.

    Sometimes it is lasting and sometimes it is oh so fleeting.

    I have read this poem a over and over, each time I do, I think something else. I always come back to the same thought.

    "That is what love is"
