Milestone

by Michael   Aug 31, 2018

Hooked back in by a callous claw
to face a darkened war once more,
I must now seek the rooted core
from where it sent my wake up call.
My thoughts wake up in times of sleep
and slaughter all my counted sheep
for now, I can but only weep
and shed some tears with Miss Bo Peep.
Depleted strength my body weak
the door of darkness starts to creak
where paths lead up to habits peak
“the battle within” - so to speak
so back along the beaten track
to where I once did turn my back
where colours are of deeper black
I will be pushed to fail and crack.
My breaths are deep my body pains
my mind plays tricks and also feigns
withdrawal runs throughout my veins
a processed need to make my gains
each day that comes without a glitch
I build my strength up strong and rich,
to castaway the dwelling itch
this dogs life really is a bit -ch!

I will remain here for a while
until I crack not Just a smile
But live my life without denial
and place a stone upon that mile!

    Excellent writing, Michael.
The meter flowed wonderfully well like a waterfall of words.
