Ashes of the Sun

by Mortal Utopia   Sep 1, 2018

There's something so strange
about how you healed
my fractured memories
(but I guess, I'm just glad you did).

Maybe it's the way
your hands splayed and curled like clipped wings
to carefully shape it;
or maybe it's the way
you folded and unfolded the fragments
into something worth remembering -

it somehow reminded me
of the paper stars you made
from ashes of the sun.
