Lovely little acrostic, Maple. I saw this on the main boards and liked it even then, I do declare!

I am in love with short poems that capture imagery within the piece. You have done well with the simplicity and you let the reader feel what you feel.

I imagine this person being out on a porch or a balcony and listening to the rain splashing onto the place they are sitting. I love the line "a silent evening" because it can mean so much to many people. I read it as there is nothing stirring around you and you are calm and at peace and the rain brings you peace. If I read deep into this poem, it could also refer to the person being connected to the rain and even nature itself.

I do like the ending as well because deep down it feels like this person has not had a peaceful moment in a long while and I say this because you say capturing that moment. Like you want to remember this moment for a long time, because as I said it could be the first moment of peace for a long time.

Well done as well for tying the very last line back with the title, it works perfectly and is genius. :)
