Only

by Maher   Sep 8, 2018

Hello, my only friend, who loves me in the cold.
Watch the sun rise through desert eyes and break this act of old.
Hello, my rosy love, on the days you never call.
The air is thin atop this peak, but it'll thicken as I fall.

I miss the ground.
If only it wasn't so far down.
It'll hurt some more than this fall burns, but it's surely a way out.

I need the ground.
If only I could reach there faster still.
The wall that comes when all is done will free me from this hell.

If only, if only, I could reach there by tonight;
I'd land face up to greet the stars and fade in their fair light.

    This is a very sad piece and if only it was over. It reminds me of me and that feeling. The pain will do it to us. I am glad that you express yourself and your poetry is brilliant. Keep writing and keep going, keep fighting. Hugs to you
