Battlefield

Such a gloomy place
Rubbles are scattered everywhere
The dust becomes mist in the air
An eyesore to someone who tries to stare

The atmosphere emits callousness
One sure can feel its loneliness
Its solemnity chills to the spine
And it pictures the end of times

Survivors were hiding beneath
In the midst of the scorching heat
With sweat dripping from their skin
Heavily breathing as the air gets thin

With tears lingers on their eyes
Some lost its sane while some are still fine
A child cry out loud with dust on his face
When he finds no way out; trapped in that place

His mom and dad gone missing
They were seperated while they're fleeing
From a band of barbaric and brutal race
Who shows no mercy nor little grace

Where tons of flesh have burried deep
The cry of the souls whisper from beneath
Knocking at the heaven's gate
Seeking justice for their tragic fate

War is a terrible thing and yet so many amazing works of art are borne from that horror.

This poem, in my eyes depicts the true cost of war. It is not about the soldier or the general, it's about the effects those people have on innocent lives.

War exist in many ways. Either nation against nation or within ourselves. There will always be a victor and there will always be a cost.

    This conveys the true cost.

With regard to its writing and conveyance! The poem is brilliant although I think there is a type error or two which could have been easily addressed.

Regardless of these minor things it is a very well worked and captivating poem.
