Dreaming the impossible

by Larry Chamberlin   Sep 10, 2018

So, shall we ride to adventures,
knights errant?
Are there are no wind mills
to stand in for Giants?
Ah, we have giant windbags
standing for election.
Shall we tilt?

If we love pure and chaste from afar
whose adoration is worthy?
Screen idols, celebrities, or perhaps
the brave individuals who stand
and cry out “me too?”

If we stand fast at the gates of hell
denying escape to Demons
will you hold fast with me?
What Demons are there today?
Terrorists, mass shooters, governments
and corporations built on corruption,
as well as our own base inclinations.

Let us ride
to the glorious life of chivalry
whether or not we must hide
the true nature of evil
behind the masks
it chooses to wear.
For myself, I choose
to dream the impossible.

Larry, its a true masterpiece! I love the lines: Ah, we have giant windbags
    standing for election.
Shall we tilt? It reminds me of Man of Lamarche (Spelling?) It is hard for those to remove their masks, and, face the truth of the ongoing warfare upon the Earth, good, against evil. Glad its Nominated, deserves a WIN.
