Dark Shadows

by Milly Hayward   Sep 17, 2018

I have a voice that shrieks into the night
to break the shackles of this joyless plight
that sun will come again and fill my sight
with wondrous beauty filled with joy and light

Yet nothing stems this brutal daily fight
or sooths unfilled wishes of once that might
demons rip my soul with poisonous bite
inject in me this dark and heinous blight

Upon this life from which I would take flight
Hope has fallen from an enormous height
seems there is not for me a golden knight
to shield against all this with his great might

Lord grant to me a mantra to recite
then promise life again will turn out right

Everything will be okay in the end. I know life is difficult but you just have to have hope. Even small changes are wins.

Thanks Jamie. I've come to realise that no matter how bleak things can feel at times. Life is never completely dark or light. There is always a shining light of hope if we look hard enough and it is hope that carries us all through. Take care Milly x
