Patience (short poem)

by Matt Carroll   Sep 18, 2018

They say patience is a virtue, good things come to those who wait

But what if all this time you have spent biding is defiance of your fate

A closed mouth remains unfed, bereft of the bounties upon your plate

Take your seat along the table's edge, lest your efforts become too late

Nicely put and nicely rhymed. I'm always telling my kids that patience is a virtue...they are getting that now.

It may be short but it is superb. Wish I had a nomination left to nominate it :( lovely rhyming and has captured both sides of patience superbly. Milly x
