Brenda I love this. Life throws so many twists and turns and we're all surprisingly resilient (usually). But there just so many coping strategies; some healthy (like writing poetry?), but most not. I love how you've left us with a question because when faced with such situations we usually 'do' before we 'think' and our 'go-to' strategy is often no more than a knee-jerk reaction.
You've made me think about what actions define me and I do love a poem that makes me think.
Totally excellent and nominated :-) x

So very true, Brenda. A moment can make or break you. It is your choice if you use that moment to make good out of a bad situation or if you will allow that moment to literally break you and change you from the person you once was. I think we all have a few defining moments in our life, it all battles down to that single choice.
Lovely poem, it truly makes you ponder on life and of all the moments I've had that have made me who I am.

Brenda this piece immediately prompted me to consider when were mine? I think life is full of small challenges from the moment that we learn to walk and that its how we approach each challenge that defines how we respond to the big ones. Sometimes a defining moment can be something small, a Eureka moment when you suddenly realise something that you never understood before and it changes the way you view things and other times it can be something so big that it seems insurmountable but in conquering it you understand that everything else will be easy.

From a more personal view I have had many defining moments that changed my outlook on life some making me more cautious, adventurous, stronger, wiser, more compassionate and in recent years more adaptive to conditions beyond my control.

Another superb thought provoking piece Brenda loved it. Milly x

I survived and reached the top and now I forgot all the struggle because the view is so so so beautiful. Again Brenda very innovative thought process. You can already see the response because you end up with a question which each one of us can relate to.

Dear Brenda I often wondered what truly defines us or what is the moment that will. Well after working all my life I lost my job one day, my home and living in my car. That was my moment and gave me a complete new and different perspective on life. I have learned never say never. Brilliant write and thank you for sharing. Hugs

    Miss Brenda

Certainly a poignant piece from you. A split second can define a moment, I for one had a wake-up call and that was such a defining moment.
    Nicely done lady
    Much love, M:)x

Thank you everyone for your thoughtful comments on this write. That's the awesome thing about everyone on this site, we have all had these moments, our highest highs and our lowest lows. We've expressed these moments in how we write and what we write and blessedly shared it with all of us here. I for one am so grateful to each and every one of you! Hugs!

Moments when we meet a crossroad. Moments when our decisions define our lives thus far. Still, we are never too old to be honest with ourselves and take a u-turn. We can always do the right thing for those we care for the most...

Yes its those moments that define us, build us and feed
us that strength which we thought we didn't have, most of all
courage. A write which will make us ponder..well penned :)
