Mr Darcy this isn't right to write such beautiful poems. I am jealous of your talent. First Gloria, then more than love and now such beautiful definition of poetry. Only a stupid would refuse to walk and explore on these rainbows you have drawn on the page.

I absolutely loved this acrostic. The simplicity of this piece speaks of a great message, that poetry is and can be a beautiful thing to read.

Placing words onto a page can be the most difficult thing for a writer. Because we often are our own worst critics. But to share with other people is sometimes terrifying to say the least. I love the wording on the third line.

Going back to my comment above, sometimes eeking out thoughts is the most difficult part because putting yourself out there for unknown eyes is scary. But I find a lot of poets write because they need to let those built up feelings out.

I have always loved the comparison between poetry writing and painting. Poetry writers (as you said) often paint with their words to vividly describe their inner most selves. Often like painters or in reality any form of artist.

Using rainbow is a perfect word as I said above to describe how beautiful poetry can be. We don't often see rainbows but when we do we are often memorized by the colors and beauty. Anyway- This is a wonderful poem that flows well in each line, and never strays from what you wanted to say in the poem itself. Wonderful story told.

I saw this perfect little acrostic on the 'struggling' thread and I wondered how long it took you to write? My guess is, not that long like your win this week. (bear with me here!) Not that this is bad - on the contrary - it is excellent. The best poems often come to us without thought and without too much overproduction, as I like to call it. The rainbows left behind at those times are certainly more 'vivid' in my opinion, not least because they have their roots in honesty and all the best art is honest at the very least.
Sorry if this took you hours...

    Take care, Michael

Damn you, Ben. This took bloody weeks of mental torture to complete.

Poetry to me is what the eye can't see and art what the mouth can't speak. Both are hidden emotions. Whatever may pop up in our mind we put it down on paper and surprisingly so many can actually relate. I could be totally off but I thank you for sharing. All the very best

A stunning acrostic and speaks the absolute truth. Poetry is a beautiful art, words can paint a picture more vividly than actual art sometimes. We pour ourselves onto a page and it comes to life. Great job!

Thanks, Hannah. We all need a little colour in our lives. If we share that we paint the world.
