The Lonely Glowworm

by Mortal Utopia   Sep 27, 2018

I wonder why your tears still encircle
the world like a song unsung:
rising, shining, smiling like rain
when they reach the clouds again.

It shines through the world with such gentle kindness,
like the sun that makes the world glow...
Please promise me you'll always remember
you helped make the world glow like so.

Promise me you'll always remember
how much you're glowing too;
even if there is no one at all
to catch your tears when they fall.

    As any members on here that are accustomed to me wil tell you I'm not particularly good at commenting on the works of other poets.

    I just seem to lack that critical edge.

    What I do know though is what I like and what catches my eyes and enthrals me.

    This poem was one of those moments.

    It's pretty lovely and also a little sad but it's beautiful in simplicity.
