On Different Tides

by CJ Maleney   Oct 2, 2018

I took you all at around 12 to 13 years of age, Untrained and unskilled you all were!

Spinning in circles upon the water. Yet things change. You learn and excel.

"I can't do this"

You did though, didn't you!

12 months to nurture, and 5 years of glory.

The best of the North West! Nationals 5 years running!

Now you move on. It's what you must.

Your lives are mapped out in front of you.

The gradients will sometimes be steep and sometimes you will have to paddle against the flow.
There will be turbulent times.

Yet I know you will all achieve amazing things.

Some of you go to the forces, some to further education and some to exiting, amazing careers!

It is the end of an epic era, and the beginning of another for you all.

I am so so proud of every single one of you!,
It has been an honour.

Follow your flow ladies and gentlemen for we are now left in your wake!

There are ones to follow in your footsteps. The new breed of water monkeys have arrived, they just don't know it yet.

I hope you wish them the same success and experiences that you all shared in and I hope we see you all again.

B.Z.

I have some experience of teaching kids life skills on youth projects and have to say I agree wholeheartedly. It is really rewarding seeing the children learn, become more confident and swiftly evolve. Keep up the good work. Milly x

Bravo Zulu on this trail of thoughts. Passing on knowledge is the greatest gift we can pass on.

      Thank you Micheal.

This was actually quite an emotional write for me.

Those kids were and are amazing and they all do have fantastic prospects ahead of them. I hope that myself my C.O and the rest of our instructors played some part in this. Actually I don't need to hope. I know we did!

I guess the cycle starts again.

      Regards
