Ode to Mortals

by Catchy   Oct 12, 2018

A haunting secret lies beneath the sun
Reflecting clearly on clean waters
Overlooked often by the eyes of man
Filled everyday of worldly matters

Above this cursed land of fruitful trees
Resides a masterpiece unnoticed
How’s it even possible to ever miss
The biggest canvas, sun had only kissed?

A boat adrift amidst emptiness
With static hearts that awaken despair
While tired minds running in restlessness
Are just wasting breaths of temporal air

The worried night speaks the length of days
Maybe longer than what fingers can count
“The stars are numbered”, it always says
“So as the time on earth’s amount!”

Dream and soar over the mountain tops!
Climb the untouched hills and get where
To worthwhile trips and love with no stops
And cherish this one short-lived affair

    Wonderfully rhymed throughout; well written

Take care and all the best,
