Mindless Choices:

by Scott Cole   Oct 15, 2018

Always think things through
Ponder a little while,
So our unyielding choices
Won't cramp our lifestyle.

For the outcomes we create
Can make or break us,
So render sound judgement
Not your first impulse.

For life owes us nothing
At times it's unfair,
Once our quick decisions
Are up in the air.

Things will never get better
Making unhealthy ways,
That's hastily dealt
With thoughtless haze.

For what's best for us
Should be on our mind,
All those consequences
At first that are blind.

It's mindset over matter
But I'm mindless to say,
Cause more often than most
Our brain gets in the way.

An excellent piece. Well rhymed and wise. Our lives are but a road built with the bricks of our choices. Glad to see in nominated. Milly x

Nicely done Scott, and yes our brains do the thinking, not always the best at times though!

*Just a typo I think "want" first stanza should be -won't?
