Distance (song with recording)

by Maher   Oct 17, 2018

I see the sky sing in an open storm,
with every tear drop, a flowing chord.
Out in the seasons I walk away.
Follow the path, follow the day.
Oh woman, why you watch the world so shy?
Face the laughter, or fear the cries.
The years, they fall upon her weary face;
canyons trace along the paths they shape.

So I whisper in the wind, before the clouds roll on over;
to the lightning and it's kin - the loud and the softer.
My breath, it is of them; may it find you in your shelter,
to carry back a word from the lips of your mother.

The years, they drip on by in a jealous haze,
tied to landmarks and numbered days.
Our road lies dusty 'neath a brilliant sky:
save the wandering, save the time.
With four eyes open everything seems blind;
I hear the laughter and feel the cry.
With all the red I thought coursed through these veins;
I lived to learn: the blue will never change.

So I whisper in the wind, before the clouds roll on over;
to the lightning and it's kin - the louder and the softer.
My breath, it is of them; may it find you in your shelter,
to carry back a word from the lips of your mother.

    Brilliant indeed. You are enviously one the best poets around here. It is so easy to read: Eyes and soul candies your words are.
