Shattered Awakening

by Sapna Rajani   Oct 17, 2018

I wish I could freeze time and just be with you in this moment. Just like how time stops when you hold me, or how my soul smiles when I hear you laugh,
I wish I could freeze those images and just keep holding on to them forever.
I realize now, what toxic relationships do to you is keep you in a cycle, of highs and lows. The highs which are super addictive and the lows which make living excruciating.
If only we could live with the highs only. If only we could live with the bliss that relationships bring during the onset.

Did you not see the invisible girl in me when you raised your voice?
Did you not see my heart through my chest beating for console rather than to be beaten.
Did you not see my soul standing there in front of you searching to recognize the mate it once thought it recognized.

It is not safe to fall this deep.
It is not safe to let down all your guards and be vulnerable,
so vulnerable that I am as easy to rip as paper.
Easy to tug like a band.
Easy to break like glass.
Easy to hurt, like swords through my very veins.

Welcome to the site Sapna :-)
I've nominated this because it's just so raw I could really relate to all you've written, and this part in particular
'Did you not see my soul standing there in front of you searching to recognize the mate it once thought it recognized.'
    Excellent! :-) x

When your trapped in a roller coaster relationship the highs become very addictive and you think you will never find anything else to match those highs but the truth is when you find real love. Where someone loves you more than themself and you them. Then you will find complete happiness that will make this fade into insignificance. A thought provoking piece. Milly x
