Stormdamaged:

by Scott Cole   Oct 19, 2018

I can see behind your stained eyes
That they're holding back a storm,
That's been brewing for some time
By the way that they're conformed.

They're both battered and bruised
Such a depleated shade of blue,
That's hollowed out and voided
From the erosion they're use too.

Those downpours you've weathered
Have taken such a beaten toll on you,
That your drenched with dampness
From all your flooded rendezvous.

They've been robbed of their luster
Their glowing sparkle washed away,
From the puddling up of moisture
During those gut wrenching cloudy days.

That precipitation that you behold
Behind your waterlogged blue eyes,
Is overwhelming with raging forces
But held steadfast behind your cries.

But keep your barriers up my dear
For sunnier days will soon appear,
Then your troubled waters will recede
And your wounded eyes dare bleed.

Judging comment : Stormdamaged: by Scott Cole points 7 - this piece stuck in my head this week because I've been the person who has been weathered by the past etc yet who has seen the effect it can have on others too so this resonated with me alot and was one of those pieces that I remembered and will for some time.
