Redemption

by Milly Hayward   Oct 24, 2018

Trapped like a beast,
served for his feast,
Dark shape,
there's no escape
No respite,
Or hope to fight

alone, alone

My heart breaks,
body shakes
lost dreams
ripped at seams

Hopes unravelled,
roads untraveled
tears on my cheek
no lucky streak

heavy heart
soon I'll depart
No choice
No Voice

Death is here
no more to fear
------------
Bright lights
dizzy heights
warm words
tweet of birds

Lovers touch
hearts crutch

Redemption

Judging comment: Redemption by Milly Hayward points 4 - I liked this piece for its fast pace as it reminded me of when my anxiety hit which is usually when I'm not feeling my best therefore have my barriers down somewhat but this piece brought hope that after ‘every storm there's a rainbow’ or at least that's what we tell ourselves to get through those bad patches.

Wow Milly, the pace of this was dizzying. Well done, I felt the speed with every line.

What a great piece. I was mesmerised by the pace, it made me feel breathless, all went well with the mood of the poem.

A perfect representation of the black-white emotional state. When at the end of the tunnel the dim light saves you.

I really enjoyed reading your poem. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks Michael. I wanted to portray the speed that can race someone into a place without hope. Yet even when it seems that it is the end. When it looks like there is no turning back. That something can still happen that can propel you just as quickly back into the light. Milly x

Oh Milly ... This makes me think about being anxious because of the fast paced lines, it made my heart race.

Thanks Em, It is representing how quickly things spiral out of control in our lives sometimes and spiral back again. Milly x
