How? Why?

by Sherry Lynn   Jul 11, 2004

How did you do it?
How did you get to me?
What was it about you,
That I found so exciting?

Was it your smile,
Your laughter,
Your words?
Or was it the fact
That you were a father?

I don’t know,
I couldn’t tell you,
I just know,
That now I love you.

I wish I didn’t
It would be
So much easier,
If only I could hate you
From here on after.

You hurt me bad,
You tore my world in two,
You broke my heart,
When you said we were through.

My life as I know it
Will never be the same,
All I can do now
Is feel tremendous pain.

Why did you do it,
Were we only a game?
Tell me my love,
It’s driving me insane.

Once again, beautiful poem. You have a true talent, and I understand completely where your words are coming from. It's a painful feeling, but I promise it will get better... Have faith..
