Curious (short poem)

by Matt Carroll   Nov 3, 2018

Now that I have your attention, just how deep are you ensnared
Am I something you can just shrug off, or have I caught you unprepared
Are you intrigued enough to stick it out, to see where this will go
Or fall back on one familiar, denying me fair chance to show

That we could be phenomenal, something destined for the books
Or will your curiosity be swayed by pious and judgemental looks
I know that you've at least considered such a drastic change of course
That this attraction isn't fiction, rather nature's defining force
