Comments : Etched Words In Ink (another messed up sonnet type thing)

Names of lovers can come and go, but like Indian ink, their memories are indelible.

    Take care.

It's more for loved ones rather than lovers but the sentiment remains the same.

      Cheers dude

How emotional and sweet. Indeed those we dearly love remain engraved in our mind and heart till eternity. Even death can't take them away. A very sincere write. Some lines were so neat; but this was my favorite:

When body fails and mind turned to sludge,

^it was not cliche and you were creative in delivering your message in a new way.

My body will fail at some point. I do however hope my mind doesn't turn to sludge. Unfortunately I've seen it happen to so many in later years.

Love this Craig...permanently marking these names, shows on your arm, forever in your heart.

It's a work in progress Bren.

I only came up with the idea recently. I have a phrase tattooed and came up with the idea of having names running through it. Not all have passed as my kids names will run through it too. When it's a little more complete it should look a little like a crossword lattice. X

    Judge's Comment:

A brutally honest piece about the pain of life: loving, losing, and sometimes worst of all — experiencing. A glimmer of hope is grasped by CJ, that even in his darkest times he still has that love, those names and experiences, to be a light to guide him through. This is a touching tribute to the power of the people in our lives, and how important it is to surround yourself with love. Even if you don’t realize it, as CJ says, “when [your] body fails and [your] mind turns to sludge”, that love is what you will hold onto as a souvenir. Perhaps CJ was attempting a sonnet-type thing, but he truly succeeded in making a moving poem.
