BLIND MAN'S VISION

by RustySoul   Nov 13, 2018

Peaceful I was without my sight,
Now I cannot find respite,
I shudder at the visions I see
I feel nothing is right.

I see a child with outstretched hands
Begging for a bowl of rice,
The pangs of hunger and thirst,
I behold them in its eyes.

A helpless mother is afraid
For the unborn in her womb,
Lest the tiny flower should be crushed
Ere it is fully bloomed.

Somewhere a youth is battling
To find his long-lost self ,
Desperate to overcome his addiction
His longing eyes looking for help.

I perceive people's vices
Hiding behind their smile,
Theirs is but an empty talk,
Their hearts remain hostile.

Fear and hatred are spread across
In the name of caste and creed,
Ruthless assassins roam about
While hapless innocents bleed.

Misery is filled in abundance
Love here cannot be found,
This world is but an empty place
Where loneliness abounds.

What joy it is to behold
The sights that haunt the mind,
Lost is all the charm of life
I beseech God to turn me blind.
