This is a very sad piece. Valentine is so hyped up nowadays and has turned into a bit of a marketing circus. Love can be beautiful but as Dagmar said it can also cause a lot of heart ache. I noticed today in the card shop that they are now doing Valentine cards for everyone now from friends, brothers, sisters, to parents, the dog its got very silly. Great write Michael, Valentine's Day can be one of the happiest or saddest day of the year, your prose has perfectly depicted the sad one, which in life, will be remember longer. I hate the movies that have sad endings, but, remember them, against the happy endings, I'm sure that I'm not alone with these thoughts. Glad that it was Nominated! Good man.
