Poem (bad rhyming part one)

by Rosy Cheeks And Irony   Mar 18, 2019

Moonlight drenched beyond your skin –
your shadow distorted in my view, it’s hand reaching forward
to the curls of hair upon my cheek…
I only want to be here with you.
But darling It’s nearly sun rise
and we are up just before it.
It’s nearly the end of midnight
and we just can forgive ourselves for it.
It’s nearly day time and still your
hand is fisted in my T shirt,
hair a mess and eyes enticing,
you’ve always known me to be a flirt.
Because this time is over and we are inconsolable -
so tell me we will never get used to it.
Because the flight time is diminishing and oh
I will take every moment with you I can get.
So tell me that this touching is harmless,
tell me that it makes me human.
Tell me there’s still a while left for times winded chariot to follow –
tell me that our sun might rise, even when the flowers aren’t blooming-
Tell me I won’t be left with my hands –
Tell me that they don’t stay cold from yearning-
tell me that life’s a lesson i have to sit through,
that with your love I will continue learning.
Tell me that I can’t throw myself into the ocean
and not be left with the sea,
tell me that you love this time when you’re here
alone, just with me.
And in return my darling
I will never fail to hold you upwards with arms reached up high
and I will never let you falter

like Atlas does the sky.
