Blank stares guide their way ahead,
Avoiding eye contact looking away instead
Weary of one another each glance frightful and haunting
We’ve all been weighed in the balance and found wanting
You’ll find no welcome nor cheer upon first sight
You’ll be a shadow in the dark and a stranger in the light
Your hours will be spent and your wallet will drip dry
And you’ll spend what little’s left on an empty one night high
Not wanting to be another blank pair of eyes
You’ll study their ways and adopt a disguise
You'll see falseness in their sincerity
And be slaves to their lies
As you’re the lonely viewer
Watching your days go by
