Bailey, The Pit Bull

by Larry Chamberlin   Apr 24, 2019

Golden, short fur, huge head, big enough
to lock onto a bull’s jowl and drag it down
and muscles rippling, plainly she’s tough;
sweet as a kitten with never even a frown.

Misunderstood and feared this loyal dog
loves her walks in the darkened park
accompanied by our cat, sniffing out frogs
only a squirrel elicits her deep throat bark.
