Find Out (Monsters)

by Some Random Human   Apr 25, 2019

Everything is missing,
now the only thing that's true,
is I've counted all my blessings,
and they're zero minus you,
in my mind I'm wishing,
that you'd tell me what to do,
reluctantly confessing,
that I've finally got a clue,

I'm just gonna find out,
that everything is wrong,
I'm just gonna find out,
there's nowhere I belong,
I'm just gonna find out,
these wounds will never heal,
I'm just gonna find out,
the darkness here is real,

No longer dismissing,
I'll finally face the truth,
and do no more second guessing,
of mistakes made in my youth,
now no longer fishing,
seeking answers like a sleuth,
'cause they are all depressing,
and most certainly uncouth,

I'm just gonna find out,
that everything is wrong,
I'm just gonna find out,
there's nowhere I belong,
I'm just gonna find out,
these wounds will never heal,
I'm just gonna find out,
the darkness here is real,

You're just gonna find out,
that nothing here is right,
you're just gonna find out,
that it's hopeless to fight,
you're just gonna find out,
the love we shared is dead,
you're just gonna find out,
there's monsters in my head,

I'm just gonna find out,
that everything is wrong,
I'm just gonna find out,
there's nowhere I belong,
I'm just gonna find out,
these wounds will never heal,
I'm so scared to find out,
the darkness here is real,

You're just gonna find out,
that nothing here is right,
you're just gonna find out,
it's meaningless to fight,
you're just gonna find out,
the love we shared is dead,
are you scared to find out,
there's monsters in my head,
there's monsters...in my...head...

Now everything is missing,
and the only thing that's true,
is I've counted all my blessings,
and they're zero minus you...

enjoyed reading this piece. i like how your poems always have a solid rhythm going on. while reading, i could easily imagine it being sung. the ending slayed me. well-worth the nomination.

I really. Liked this. It's a very strong write with a killer of an ending.

    Well done.

I imagine you singing this. Yes, I know it's more a song but I can feel the rhythm, glad to see it nominated. <3
