Under the Sun

by Maple Tree   May 13, 2019

Upon the edge-wood
I ride against thunder
as rain drops slowly
consume what is left
of my drowning soul.

Mossy trees dominate
each thought of peace,
dangling memories
I'll never live to tell;
the forget-me-not's refuse
to be born again.

Upon midnight
I run crossed meadows
of earthbound tragedies
and nothing can stand
in my way-

because mother nature knows
that I belong with her;
my heart can't walk this
earth alone.

    And upon dawn you will find peace.
    Once the sun rises
    you shall be reminded that a tree,
    needs it’s light to conquer what is ahead.
    The fruit she bears,
    grew into a tree somewhere far away,
    even if she wilts she shall return
    to where she belongs;
    within the spirit of her mother she will live.

    This is deep and so honestly expressed especially that last part. You are not alone even if you feel you can't do the walk alone. Hugs to you
