Harmony (Rondeau)

by Michael   May 13, 2019

I can but dream, a place to flee
somewhere for once, I can be free.
No city smoke, no guns or war,
no battles fought upon the shore.
A world that’s safe, for you and me.

I’d walk the hills, and hug a tree
and dance around, so merrily.
To love thy neighbour is my core
without such fear, to lock my door
... I can but dream

Where beauty lies in land and sea
and love is shared without a fee.
I’d take the role, and shall mentor
and teach all children to adore
This place to name is harmony.
.... I can but dream

    That’s my favorite lines.
I like the sentiment in this piece the most. Good job.
