Jack Out The Box

by CJ Maleney   May 16, 2019

I said the life is not for everyone!
And in time it wouldn't be for me.
Now I've been given an amazing chance,
To finally be free!

It's taken a lot of thought,
I've had to weigh the pros and cons,
But I think I need to to this,
And at last be where I belong.

There is an element of risk to calculate.
I'll need to be vigilant around the clock,
But if all comes to fruition,
I'll leave behind this box.

This is both a nervous and exiting time,
And perhaps it's time to feel the sun.
Time to say goodbye to cogs and gears
And hello Afghanistan.

Afghanistan? It sounds like you are conflicted about going? I guess as long as you can stay in contact with your loved ones, i.e. your daughter, you should go for it. The UK is only a plane ride away.
    I hope writing this helped.
