Burn Marks

by ddavidd   May 19, 2019

She was crying
like I could never stop her.

These burn marks
would attest to my love.
They are my words
the desires of trees to ignite
by the sun, or by the fire.

They are the allusion of passion,
sparkles of the flames,
the words
in which the fire serenades
beneath
woods.

She was crying,
tears
are when water and fire
brew.

A very interesting write of love worded passionately with
a different view. I had to read it a few times and found there
is a deeper feeling running under...nicely penned!

I read this piece several times and realised that the reader has to look quite deeply into the words to really get to the crux of what is being said. The burn marks are not literal but a metaphor for words spoken with passion and love. A passionate portrayal of fiery love for a woman who cries not with pain but with a mixture happiness and the rising of passion in her in response to the passion given from him.

    A complex but fascinating write.
