I Smell You

by Reddy   May 24, 2019

Is it vanilla?coconut? Lavender?
This smell, which I can’t tell,
Leaves me in a blurr
Cause i am unable to describe or spell
This particular smell

What if this smell was a feeling?
It would smell like a warm hug,
A smile of a thousand watts
A laugher that could cure depression
A safe space to be vulnerable
A person who I fell in love with

This scent that perplexes me
I smell it everyday
I smell it on my sweater after you use it
It lingers on me after a hug
It becomes stronger
When you put your head on my shoulder

This smell doesn’t belong to anything else
It’s uniquely, unequivocally, distinctively
Yours.

I often wander how life would be without sight. I am pretty sure that our sense of smell would heighten and so those closest to us would be know by their sound and of course their aroma. I love the aromas of nature, especially those of my muse.
well done on this poem, its very good.

So much passion altering from feeling to sensations, measuring the river with a broken cup. The alteration of emotions to the different motion of five senses, connecting everything to love, the way it should be. The sensation of recognition here is so keen that you could descry your beloved through all the senses, everything that let you out
but you recognize the outside because they come from within. And they are senses because of your inner senses.
Here your smelling sense connects your love, directly, to the garden of Eden.
