Thank you for sharing your feelings about Bassie. He sounds like an incredible companion. Their ability to know us, our emotional states is uncanny. My 'Treacle' will wag a concerned tail with just a small sigh from me. His eyes will tell me "it's ok, dad, I'm here" when I'm angry or worried. If I'm upset, he's there, always there. |
That warms my heart! So much love and it's beautiful when they can, in the smallest ways, give comfort and companionship. |

I’ve never owned a dog, only cats, but I understand that there’s no other companion like one, and Bassie sounds like a wonderful dog. My friend was given a dog as treatment for her bi polar, and it’s a whippet. It’s a pain in the butt, but he saved her. It’s amazing what these animals can do. This is a lovely dedication to a dog, without need for critique or analysis. A poem I imagine many can relate to. |
Hey, I love cats too, but my family has always despised them lol. I tried changing their minds and we have this awesome neighborhood cat that visits us... but still, they're partial to dogs. |
So glad you have him x. Love my dogs beyond anything. |
Aw, thank you! Yes, indeed. Who would we be without them? |

MA, you thanked me recently for being open and sharing poetry that is heartfelt and now, here I am, returning that thanks. This is what this place is really about. Trusting, reading and empathising with each others' feelings. |
Ben, that means so much, thank you, truly! |
Bassie sounds wonderful <3 ... Dogs really are.... We got our "springador " for my son with tourettes ten years ago. My son is 21 now coming and " Pepsi" has been his BEST companion. They really do know us and are always there to give us a "nudge" or to cuddle up at our lowest tines . They are just darlings our dogs<3 |
Pepsi? That's adorable! So glad your son has him. It's like they bring something new and amazing into our lives. Thank you for reading <3 |

I always say adopting a cat or a dog would make me feel heavy, they need so much care!! And I am afraid I may harm them. I’m also allergic to cats. You changed my mind!! |

They rescue us, not the other way around. I love this, and love you. |
